Summary of art 2016

How have Christmas and other festivities been? I hope you have started off the new year on the right foot and everything goes great. As for me, here you have me another year with my drawings. Yes, I know that I don't publish every month, but the important thing is not to leave the hobby or blog.

In this first entry of the year I am going to share with you the summary of last year.

¿Cómo han ido las Navidades y demás fiestas? Espero que hayáis entrado en el nuevo año con buen pie y que todo vaya fenomenal. Por mi parte, aquí me tenéis un año más con mis dibujos. Sí, ya sé que no publico todos los meses, pero lo importante es no dejar abandonado el hobby ni el blog.

Meme - Draw this again! (¡Dibuja esto de nuevo!) - Marlisha 2010-2016

I should have posted this meme last month.

Marlisha is a character I created in 2010. In the left you can see the first drawing I made of her. Lineart was made with Manga Studio and Photoshop for colour and background. In the right you can see the new design of Marlisha, which drawing was posted last month. Lineart and colour is made with Easy Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop for the background.

What do you think about these six years of improvement?

Esto tendría que haberlo subido el mes pasado.

Marlisha es un personaje que creé en 2010, a la izquierda podéis ver el primer dibujo que hice de ella. El lineart lo hice con Manga Studio y el color y fondo con Photoshop. A la derecha podéis ver el nuevo diseño de Marlisha, cuyo dibujo subí el mes pasado. El lineart y el color está hecho con Easy Paint Tool Sai y el fondo con Photoshop.

Meme - Draw this again! (¡Dibuja esto de nuevo!) - Legolas 2003-2015

This meme should have been posted months ago, so I upload it now.

The fanart of Legolas on the left was drawn in 2003 and I used watercolours to paint. Last year I wanted to draw the same fanart, this time painted digitally. The evolution of my style is quite noticeable. In the next links you can see both drawings in more detail:

Hace meses que debería haber subido este meme, así que lo subo ahora.

100 Creatures Challenge - 78 - Kappa

Kappa

Second illustration of the "100 Creatures challenge". A while ago, I thought about drawing a Kappa, so when saw this creature was in the list, I had no excuse to draw it. It's not a creature I particulary like, is creepy and should not be pleasant to find one in a river while walking.

The background is fully drawn by me. I've challenged myself to draw more detailed backgrounds although I'm not good at it.

Segunda ilustración del "Reto 100 Criaturas". Hace un tiempo, pensé en dibujar un Kappa así que cuando vi que esta criatura estaba en la lista, ya no tuve excusa para dibujarlo. No es una criatura que me guste especialmente, da grima y no debe ser agradable encontrarse a uno en un río mientras paseas.

El fondo está completamente dibujado por mí. Me he retado a dibujar fondos más detallados aunque no se me de bien.

First illustration of the "100 Creatures challenge". I have started with Will-o'-the-wisp because was the first creature that came to mind to draw. It has been fun because I never drew something similar in past and it turned out better than expected.

Fuego Fatuo

Primera ilustración del "Reto 100 Criaturas". He empezado con el fuego fatuo porque fue la primera criatura que se me vino a la cabeza para dibujar. Ha sido divertido ya que nunca había hecho un dibujo así y ha quedado mejor de lo esperado.

100 Creatures Challenge

I decided to join this "100 Creatures Challenge" by Sootness (deviantART). Why? Currently I have a huge art block, so I need something that motivates me to keep drawing. I like mythology, monsters and supernatural creatures, so it may be fun to draw them, will help me to improve my skills and let's see if I can complete the challenge. He decidido unirme al reto "100 Criaturas", por Sottness (DeviantART). ¿Por qué? Actualmente tengo un bloqueo artístico descomunal y necesito algo que me motive seguir dibujando. Como me gusta la mitología, los monstruos y las criaturas sobreanaturales, puede ser divertido dibujarlos, me ayudará a mejorar mis técnicas y vamos a ver si consigo terminar el reto. Summary of Art 2014

2014 has been a weird year. I was hoping it were more productive than the previous one, but it hasn't happened. My pen tablet was damaged for a long time (around two years, but I could use it) and didn't take it to fix until October, when it definitely broke. Anyway, I have a huge artistic block, I don't feel like taking the pencil and draw. I miss that age in which I was able to make 40 illustrations in a year and now I don't get 15. This has to improve! Still, I have made some artworks and this is the summary:

● March: B-Day Gift for Yami Mae (2014)
This gift helped me as a excuse to draw.

● April: Easter 2014 - Maiko Hirohata

● May: Penguin parade

● June: Commission - Sweet Angel Kawaii (2014)
My first commission! This artwork was commissioned by my friends of the shoe Sweet~Angel~Kawaii for their on-line shops. Maybe I'll accept commissions soon, but first I have to establish the prices.

The tablet was half broken and didn't want to draw, so I focused on photography my dolls, my other hobby.

2014 ha sido un año raro. Tenía la esperanza de que fuese más productivo que el anterior, pero no ha sido así. Mi tableta gráfica estuvo estropeada durante mucho tiempo (como dos años, aunque podía usarla) y no la llevé a reparar hasta el mes de Octubre, que fue cuando ya se estropeó definitivamente. De todas formas, tengo un bloqueo artístico impresionante, no me apetece coger el lápiz y dibujar. Añoro aquél tiempo en el que era capaz de hacer 40 ilustraciones en un año y ahora no llego ni a 15. ¡Esto tiene que mejorar! Aún así, algún que otro dibujo he hecho y éste es el resumen:

¡Mi primer encargo! Este dibujo me lo encargaron mis amigas de la tienda Sweet~Angel~Kawaii para sus tiendas on-line. Puede que acepte encargos próximamente, primero tendría que fijar bien los precios.

La tableta estaba medio rota y no tenía ganas de dibujar, así que me centré en la fotografía de mis muñecos, mi otro hobby.

Let's see how 2015 is. I only hope my art block is over and return to have inspiration and desire to draw. At least it consoled me to see that I have improved my techniques with digital colour.

Manga Styles Meme

I found a Manga Styles Meme in dA a few months ago and I felt like make it using my OC Norlij (a.k.a. Toshi). I finished it in December 2011. As my drawings were quite big  and I had to cut them in the meme, I made this one in two parts, so you can see what these drawings really look like. It's been interesting to draw Norlij in different manga styles ^_^
