As you know, this summer I joined PaigeeWorld, a social network for artists. I discovered this site thanks to zugaikotsu-no-joo (dA) and I'm pretty happy because there are a very good atmosphere and good artists who to share drawings and photographs with.
The community is quite young, yet there are also registered artists with more experience and I've even been surprised with the quality of the drawings of many of the younger artists.

Como ya sabéis, este verano me uní a PaigeeWorld, una red social para artistas. Esta página la descubrí gracias a zugaikotsu-no-joo (dA) y estoy bastante contenta ya que hay muy buen ambiente y buenos artistas con los que compartir dibujos y fotografías.
La comunidad es bastante joven, aún así también hay registrados artistas con más experiencia e incluso me he sorprendido con la calidad de los dibujos de muchos de los artistas más jóvenes.

But if there's something I like about this site, apart from the good general environment, are the contests and challenges that encourage users to draw. I like to participate in them, not for the gifts they offer, I have never won none and I don't care, it's about the fact that thanks to these contests encourage me to continue drawing. You know that I usually suffer from art block quite often, but thanks to these contests and challenges I have got something I have never got in other art pages where I'm registered. One of my drawings, Go Team Aoi!, received a "featured" about a month and a half ago, being my picture on the front page, and last Saturday one of my drawings, Black Cat, received a "shout out", that is that one of the moderators made an entry mentioning my drawing so that more users could see it.
Thanks to these details, I have got 100+ followers. It may not be something surprising, but considering that I'm on dA for 10 years and currently I have 144 followers, the difference is big. All these details are encouraging me to continue drawing, although if it is just as a hobby, so to thank their support to my followers on PaigeeWorld, I made this fast draw.

Pero si hay algo que me gusta de esta página, aparte del buen ambiente general, son los concursos y retos que organizan para animar a los usuarios a dibujar. Me gusta participar en ellos, no por los regalos que ofrecen, que nunca he ganado ninguno y no me importa, es por el hecho de que gracias a estos concursos me animo a seguir dibujando. ¡¡Enhorabuena por esos 100!! Puede que para algunas personas ese numero signifique poco, pero a mi me parecen muchísimos.
ReplyDeleteYo creo que no solo depende de la calidad de las publicaciones sino también de que lo que se publica guste a muchos. No sé en el mundo del dibujo, pero en el de fotografía hay de todo. Yo sigo a mucha gente que a mi parecer hacen fotografías impresionantes y apenas tienen seguidores o favoritos y los hay que sus publicaciones no son para tirar cohetes y les llueven los seguidores. Es todo muy relativo.
Muchas gracias. Si te digo la verdad, jamás imaginé que conseguiría tantos seguidores en tan poco tiempo en esta página. Mis dibujos suelen pasar bastante desapercibidos en todas las páginas en las que estoy, no sé si porque mis dibujos no tienen suficiente chispa o porque no suelo dibujar fanarts, que eso hace mucho.
DeleteSí, en el mundo del dibujo ocurre igual que con la fotografía. Muchas veces me sorprende el ver que gente con un talento enorme no tienen la atención que se merecen, mientras otros con un nivel bastante bajo tienen cientos de seguidores.
